High School Physics Forum Was Held at Tsinghua University

Organized by the Physics Department of Tsinghua University, the High School Physics Forum was held in the Auditorium of Tsinghua University on July 16th. More than 500 teachers and students from high schools in Hong Kong, Taiwan and mainland China participated in the forum.

The forum was presided over by Prof. Yayu Wang, the chair of Physics Department of Tsinghua. Prof. Nu Xu (President of the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers) and Prof. Xiqin Wang (Vice President of Tsinghua University) delivered welcome speeches at the opening ceremony.

Prof. Qi-kun Xue (Vice President of Tsinghua University), Prof. Yuanning Gao from the Engineering Physics Department of Tsinghua University, Prof. Albert M. Chang from Duke University, Nobel Laureates Steven Chu from Stanford University, Prof. Hua Feng from the Research Center of Astronomy of Tsinghua University, and Prof. Bangfen Zhu from Physics Department of Tsinghua gave invited talks on the forum respectively, introducing the backgrounds and the cutting-edge research on the related fields, and sharing experiences on physics teaching and education.

The 9th Joint Meeting of Chinese Physicists Worldwide will be held at Tsinghua from July 17th to 20th. During the period, scholars will continue to focus on the discussion around physics teaching methods and related topics.
