Abstract:In 2020, the NANOGrav collaboration in north America released its 12.5-year data, and found a signal hinting at a stochastic gravitational wave background. We shall report the result of our reanalysis of the data, which showed strong Bayesian evidence that the signal should be from transverse scalar modes, rather than the transverse and traceless tensor modes predicted by general relativity.

Bio:黄庆国,中国科学院理论物理研究所研究员。主要从事引力和宇宙学方向的前沿研究,在Phys.Rev.Lett.等期刊发表110余篇学术论文,被他人引用3800余次。近年来在引力波宇宙学方面取得一些阶段性研究进展,包括计算一般质量分布原初黑洞的并合率分布,提出利用双原初黑洞绕转辐射的引力波背景以及伴随原初黑洞形成而产生的诱导引力波探测和限制原初黑洞的方法,并利用现有的LIGO和北美纳赫兹引力波天文台发布的观测数据得到在千分之一到一百倍太阳质量原初黑洞丰度的最严格限制等。
