报告题目:Status on the Search for QCD Critical Point at RHIC and Lambda Polarization

内容摘要:In this seminar, I would like to cover two topics: (i) Recent progress on the search for the QCD critical point with the beam energy scan program at RHIC and future plans; (ii) Lambda polarization has been observed experimentally more than 50 years, yet its origin remains unknown. Here, we will discuss some of the early measurements and a newly proposed state-of-the-art spectrometer, Hyperon-Nucleon Spectrometer (HNS), aimed to study the Lambda polarization systematically with energy scan of p-p, p-A, A-A collisions at HIAF. Potential measurements for other physics program with the HNS will also be discussed.
报告人简介:许怒,1982年本科毕业于中国科学技术大学,1990年于纽约州立大学石溪分校获得物理博士学位。任美国物理协会会士、欧洲科学院院士,曾获洪堡基金会研究成就奖。三十多年来,许怒在美国、欧洲和国内大科学装置上利用高能核物理碰撞实验研究强相互作用相结构,特别是在集体运动,寻找相变临界点和超子-重子相互作用研究方向做出系列创新结果。
