报告摘要:One of the most important potential applications of quantum computers is simulation of physical quantum systems. In addition, simulation also provides a foundation for more general quantum algorithms for tasks like solving linear systems and differential equations. Quantum algorithms for simulation of physical quantum systems usually use a product formula corresponding to many short-time evolutions. Here I present a new approach which compresses the product formula by using a superposition of times. This provides dramatically improved performance, and in particular exponentially improves the precision of the simulation.
